BACKGROUND AND DIRECTIONS OF INNOVATIVE RESTRUCTURE OF THE INDUSTRY STRUCTURE OF THE ECONOMY OF GEORGIA UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF A NEW TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION

Summary

The paper considers the factors hindering the implementation of innovations in the sectors of the Georgian economy in the context of a new technological revolution (the process of transition to a new technological order) and the prerequisites for overcoming them. The technologies of the key factor of the new technological order (that is, the most relevant technologies that provide a new technological revolution) and the main supporting industries are systematized. Further, a strategy for restructuring the sectoral structure of the Georgian economy in the light of solving the problems of a new technological revolution is proposed and justified by implementing relevant basic and improving innovations in the energy sector and in a number of industrial subsectors (electrotechnical industry, production of composite materials and products from them, metallurgical industry, information and communication technologies, transport engineering, light industry) of Georgia.
